How to play Blind Mission, a co-op bomb defusal game
An asymmetric co-op puzzle in which two players work together to defuse every module of a time bomb. The Defuser, who can handle the bomb, does not know how to solve it, and the Instructor, who has the rulebook, cannot see the bomb. You defuse it by passing information to each other accurately and working through the rulebook. The rulebook and the Words module are in Japanese.
- Players: 1–2 players (one person takes both roles in solo play)

Blind Mission modes
- Solo play (ソロプレイ): handle both the bomb and the rulebook yourself (4 difficulty levels)
- Co-op for two (2人で協力): create a room and share the room ID to play together with a friend
Basic rules of Blind Mission
- The Defuser can operate the bomb but cannot see the rulebook. The Instructor can read the rulebook but cannot see the bomb.
- There are 8 module types (Wires, Button, Keypad, Simon, Words, Memory, Maze and Password), and 3 to 9 of them appear depending on the difficulty.
- For many rules, the answer depends on the bomb's casing: the serial number, the number of batteries, the indicator lights and the ports.
- In the lobby, you choose whether the rulebook "Changes every time" (毎回変わる) or is "Fixed" (固定). With a fixed rulebook you can practice with the same rules again and again.
- Each mistake adds a strike and makes the timer run faster. You fail if the strikes reach the limit or time runs out.
- From Hard upward, a cooling unit is added. When the temperature starts to rise, hold down the lever to cool it.
- You succeed if you defuse every module within the time limit.
How to play on Asobi Lounge
- Create or join a room. In the lobby, check your role, Defuser (解除班) or Instructor (指示班), the difficulty and the rulebook type, then press Ready (準備完了).
- During the game, pass information to each other by talking over a calling app or in person (use your own app for voice chat).
- The Instructor's screen shows which module the Defuser is looking at right now and can open that module's rulebook page right away.
- In solo play, the bomb and the rulebook sit side by side on a computer; on a phone you switch between them with tabs.
Tips
- Tell the Instructor about the casing (serial number, batteries, lights, ports) first, and everything after that goes faster.
- Keypad symbols have no names. Describe each shape's features in a few words, and agree on what to call them.
- The Words module is easy to mishear, as with "hashi" written in different ways (はし, 橋, 箸), so say whether a word is in hiragana, katakana or kanji.
- Memory uses the positions and numbers you pressed in earlier stages. The Instructor should note them in the record area of the rulebook.
- Starting with Easy (3 modules, 8 minutes, 4 strikes) is recommended.
