Basic rules of Life Sugoroku
- On your turn, spin the roulette (1–10) and move that many spaces. Spaces are divided into themes (work, family, travel, health, money, happenings and luck), and an event that fits the theme of the space you land on happens.
- You get your salary just by passing a payday space, and a bonus if you land on it exactly.
- You must stop at red Stop (ストップ) spaces, where you choose: go on to school or get a job, marry or not, buy a house or not, city or countryside, take the shortcut or not, change jobs or not, the safe path or the adventurous one.
- If you do not have enough money, you automatically take on debt, which you repay at 1.25 times the amount at the final settlement.
- When everyone has reached the goal, the final settlement takes place. Add up your cash, the sale price of your house, the market value of your stocks, the value of your memory cards and your happiness points (500,000 per point), then repay your debt; the highest total wins.
How to play on Asobi Lounge
- Before you spin, you can use up to one support or sabotage card from your hand. Cards that target another player are blocked if that player holds a Guard (ガード).
- The stock market has 5 companies. Prices move every round and swing sharply with the news. You can buy and sell as often as you like before spinning on your turn, and you receive a dividend each time a company's number comes up on anyone's spin.
- Earning a qualification at the qualification school raises your salary, and side jobs bring in income every payday. Hobbies add happiness points, and even more when other players share the same hobby.
- On showdown spaces you pick an opponent for a roulette contest, on gift spaces you exchange gifts and both gain happiness, and on joint venture spaces you invite another player to make money together.
- When someone lands on a minigame space, everyone plays a minigame (Perfect Stop, Button Mash, Reaction Dash or High & Low). The top players win prize money and memory cards.
- While watching other players' turns, you can send messages such as "Congrats" or "Better luck next time" with the reaction buttons.
- There are three courses: Short, Standard and Long. With 8 players they take about 35, 60 and 90 minutes respectively.
Tips
- When choosing a job, the special skill matters as much as the salary. Doctors and pilots earn money even from other players' events.
- If you have insurance, you pay nothing for illness or accident events.
- The more expensive the house, the more it sells for at the end, but watch out for the interest on debt.
- The value of memory cards stays hidden until the end. Painters get double the value of their memory cards at the settlement.
- You can win not only by saving money, but also by collecting happiness points through marriage, children, hobbies and donations.
