Asobi Hall modes

  • Pachinko "Shooting Star Stage" (machines 101-106): a mid-range digital pachinko. A jackpot comes 1 in 319.7, followed by 130 ST spins or 100 time-saver spins
  • Pachislot "Lantern Night" (machines 201-208): a normal type with only BIG and REG bonuses. Each machine gets a setting from 1 to 6 for each day
  • Leaderboard: compete with your best "highest net balls of a day" (requires sign-in)

Basic rules of Asobi Hall

  • Balls are shared by every machine. Pachinko fires one ball at a time; pachislot counts 1 medal as 5 balls and bets 3 medals (15 balls) per game.
  • You start with 10,000 balls. When you run low, the "Today's top-up" (本日の補給) in the lobby fills you up to 10,000 balls once per day, Japan time (it never takes balls away if you have more).
  • Net balls are the balls paid out that day minus the balls used. The top-up is not counted. The leaderboard shows the highest net balls you reached in one day.
  • The pachislot setting (1-6) and the pachinko nail condition (tight, normal or loose) are decided for each machine and each day. Which machine has which is secret, but the shares are in the odds table. On the same day, everyone plays the same hall.
  • Each machine keeps its state partway through (held spins, ST, a carried bonus, credits). You can go back to the lobby and continue later.

How to play on Asobi Lounge

  • Pick a machine in the lobby. Each machine card shows that day's spins (games), number of hits, spins since the last hit and a small slump graph.
  • Pachinko: balls fire while you press the handle at the lower right. "Auto fire" (連続発射) keeps firing without holding. Change the strength with "−" and "+", and switch your aim with "Left" (左打ち) and "Right" (右打ち). On a keyboard, Space fires, the up and down arrows change the strength, and L and R switch the aim.
  • Pachislot: press "MAX BET", then hit the lever to spin the reels, and stop them with the 3 stop buttons. On a keyboard, Space bets and pulls the lever, and 1, 2, 3 or the left, down and right arrows stop the reels.
  • On a machine, "Odds" (確率) shows the odds table and the reliability of each effect, "Custom" (カスタム) sets the effects, and "Book" (図鑑) lists the pachislot reach patterns.

About balls and medals

Balls and medals are virtual points used only inside this game. They cannot be exchanged for cash or prizes, and they cannot be bought.

This game has no connection with any real hall, gaming machine or manufacturer. The machine names, symbols and effects are all original to this site.

Odds of the pachislot "Lantern Night"

It has 3 reels, 21 symbols per reel and 5 lines, and a reel slides up to 4 symbols after you press its stop button. A role that has not been drawn never lines up wherever you press. Bells and replays line up wherever you press, while watermelons and 7s can be missed unless you aim for them.

The small roles are the same in every setting: replay 1 in 7.3, watermelon (5 medals) 1 in 36.0 and cherry (2 medals) 1 in 34.0 including overlaps. Bells (8 medals) rise with the setting, from 1 in 7.08 at setting 1 to 1 in 6.55 at setting 6. BIG (7-7-7) lasts 21 games for a net gain of 252 medals, and REG (7-7-BAR) lasts 8 games for 96. The odds for each setting are below (the payout rate assumes you never miss a watermelon or a bonus, and is calculated from the counts in the lottery table).

  • Setting 1: BIG 1/273.1, REG 1/409.6, combined 1/163.8, payout rate 96.7% (share of settings 30%)
  • Setting 2: BIG 1/267.5, REG 1/370.3, combined 1/155.3, payout rate 98.5% (25%)
  • Setting 3: BIG 1/258.0, REG 1/319.7, combined 1/142.8, payout rate 101.4% (20%)
  • Setting 4: BIG 1/245.5, REG 1/280.1, combined 1/130.8, payout rate 104.7% (13%)
  • Setting 5: BIG 1/232.4, REG 1/248.2, combined 1/120.0, payout rate 108.2% (8%)
  • Setting 6: BIG 1/219.9, REG 1/219.9, combined 1/110.0, payout rate 111.9% (4%)

Specs of the pachinko "Shooting Star Stage"

Every number is calculated from the counts in the machine's program (205 out of 65,536 normally, 659 during ST). The reliability of each effect is shown under "Odds and reliability" on the machine screen.

  • Jackpot odds: 1 in 319.7 normally, 1 in 99.4 during ST
  • A hit from the center pocket: half are 10 rounds + 130 ST spins, half are 10 rounds + 100 time-saver spins. A hit from the electric tulip is always 10 rounds + 130 ST spins
  • Payout of one jackpot: 10 rounds × 10 counts × 15 balls = 1,500 balls
  • The 130 ST spins continue about 73.1% of the time, a hit comes back during the 100 time-saver spins about 26.9% of the time, and a run that starts from the center pocket averages about 2.86 hits
  • Up to 4 spins are held, and electric-tulip spins are used first. Nail conditions are tight 40%, normal 45% and loose 15% of days

Early notices, premium effects and reach patterns

In pachinko, a flash and sound the moment a ball enters a pocket (early notice), the color of held spins (white, blue, green, red, rainbow), a series of notices when a hit or reach is among the held spins (look-ahead), and 4 reaches (normal, SP, SPSP and all-spin) tell you how hopeful a spin is. "Reverse symbols" (図柄逆回転), where the symbols spin backwards, and "Blackout" (ブラックアウト), where the screen goes dark before an all-spin reach, are premium effects that only appear on a hit.

In pachislot, the lantern lights up when a bonus is drawn. A different lever sound, the reels flashing on the first stop and a delayed reel start are the 3 early notices. The lanterns lighting in 7 colors in turn, the sound cutting out as every light comes on, and the reels turning back a little are 3 premium effects that only appear with a bonus. Stop patterns that only appear while a bonus is drawn (reach patterns) are collected in the book.

What the custom menu changes

Changing the custom settings never changes the odds or the payouts. Only the effects change.

  • Pachinko: look-ahead notices (on or off), early notices (on or off), notices (normal, hot only or quiet), effect speed (normal or fast), held-spin display (normal or subtle)
  • Pachislot: notice timing (after the third stop, at the lever, complete silence until it lines up, or random), early notices (on or off), reel delay (on or off), music during bonuses (3 songs), reel lights (on or off)
  • Both: volume (overall, music and sound effects), mute, and fewer flashes

Points to keep in mind

  • Guessing a pachislot setting is part of the fun. Bells and REG bonuses drawn together with a cherry both come more often at higher settings. For a machine you played the day before, you can see that day's setting the next day.
  • Watermelons and 7s need aimed stops. When the lantern lights up, aim for the 7s.
  • In pachinko, aim left for the center pocket in normal play, and aim right during ST, time-saver spins and jackpots. Following the on-screen guide wastes fewer balls.
  • On both machines, results swing a lot over a short time. We recommend enjoying the effects themselves while checking the odds table and the reliability.
