How to use Drawing Chat: draw alone or together on one canvas
A drawing tool where you can take your time drawing alone, or draw at the same time as others on one shared canvas in a room. It has three layers (sketch, color and line art) and is a place for people who want to create rather than play a game. Despite "chat" in the name, there is no text chat; you interact only through drawings.
- Players: 1 player alone, up to 10 in a room
- Price: free
- Runs in the browser (no install)
The game screen is in Japanese.
Draw Alone mode can be used right away from this page without signing in (your drawing is saved on this device). Drawing with others in a room requires signing in with a Google account. To draw with a friend, they also need to create an account and register as your friend.
Drawing Chat modes
- Draw Alone (ひとりで描く): saved automatically on this device
- Create Room (ルーム作成): make a room to draw with friends (you can choose a password and the canvas size)
- Join a room by room ID or from the list of public rooms
Basic rules of Drawing Chat
- Everyone in a room draws on the same canvas. People who join partway see everything drawn so far.
- Layer contents are shared by everyone. Undo and redo only affect the lines you drew yourself.
- Only the host can clear the whole canvas, clear a layer, or erase a specific person's lines.
- There is no winning, losing or score. There is no text chat either; it is a place to enjoy drawing freely together on one canvas.
How to play on Asobi Lounge
- Choose a tool from pen, pencil, marker, eraser, fill, eyedropper, line, rectangle and ellipse, set the color, size and opacity, and draw.
- Zoom in and out with the mouse wheel or a pinch, and move around by dragging while holding the Space key. Pen tablet pressure is supported.
- Use the Save (保存) button to save your drawing as a PNG image.
Canvas size
Before you start drawing, choose from these five sizes. In a room, the person who creates it chooses, and everyone draws on a canvas of the same size.
- Standard 960×720
- Wide 1280×720
- Portrait 720×960
- Square 1024×1024
- Large 1600×1200
Using the three layers
- On the Sketch (下書き) layer, rough out the shapes in a light color.
- On the Line Art (線画) layer, trace over the sketch to draw your lines.
- Use fill on the Color (着色) layer to put color under the line art. Even if the color spills over, the line art stays clean.
- When you are finished, clear the sketch layer and save.
Tips for drawing well
- The eyedropper picks up any color on the canvas exactly as it is.
- On a keyboard you can use shortcuts such as B (pen), E (eraser), G (fill) and Ctrl+Z (undo).
- When drawing together, agree out loud on who draws where, so lines overlap less.
